Since moving to a new house on Aug 6th, it has taken almost a full month to finally get our internet connected. Apparently our house didn’t exist in their system and even though they could find it to install a home phone and the TV, they were not able to locate it to send out a modem. Anyways, it is finally installed and I am hoping they have the same problem when trying to figure out where to send the bill.
The past month had me really worried about what I was missing out on. World news, important emails waiting in my inbox, responses from art shows I had applied for……… Then the internet was connected. Within a few minutes I had gone through all of my emails (nothing important), read the local paper (nothing new, same old stadium debate) and checked out the sites I used to visit daily. Again, nothing new or interesting.
So the question I am now asking myself is what the hell am I doing during the hours I spend online every day?
If I can go a month without being online and not miss a thing, then how important can the things that I spend so much time on online really be?
I don’t know, but it sure is nice to be back.
Anyways, here is the new house. Lots of work to do, but I am going to focus on getting unpacked before I start ripping things up.
