Don’t hate because I have carpet under my bathtub and you don’t. Look how nice it is.
So, today is bathtub changing day. Looking forward to finally getting rid of the rusty stained tub and replacing it with the shiny new one. If my measurements are correct, I might even be able to fit this old one out through the door.
Word
Should be fun. I have to move the drain over about a foot because the guy that originally built the bathroom has the toilet angled into the corner, touching the wall at one side, and framed the corner wall around it with a 30 degree corner.
There is also no water shut off for the toilet, so I have to shut down the pump and drain the whole system. I will be adding one of those.
I am quite thrilled to be able to spend some good quality time with the spiders and mice in the tight crawl space figuring out how to cut through the old cast iron pipe and replace it.
On a positive note, the rest of the room has been completely gutted and all the framing is done for the new vaulted ceiling. I also added a GFCI (don’t know why there wasn’t one originally) and rewired the room to accommodate the new chandeliers.
Anyways, the renovation is back on track and hopefully I can get the new toilet in pretty quick. Although not having on is a great way to introduce myself to the neighbors…. while peeing in the backyard.
Anyways, here are some before shots of the bathroom. I will get some progress shots after I change the toilet. There isn’t really a lot of space to work with, but I will do my best.
